Not much to speak of, or write about, again today the Feed was somewhat depleted of wrecks, but filled out a bit with “lifestyle” articles as is normal for this day of the week.
Another report on the NJ wreck that killed a cyclist and 2 dogs, and severely injured the driver. Bicyclist killed in Vineland crash was Clearview Regional teacher Nothing new here except the report on the driver’s injuries and descriptions of the damages that make it sound like the SUV was exceeding the speed limit by a substantial margin. And he killed 2 puppies, awww.
Another SWSS this time in OR. Bicyclist killed in collision with car Typical SWSS report, the driver was “passing” the cyclist when he pulled in front of the truck for no reason. Sheriff’s deputies did not find anything wrong with the driver’s story.
From Oz comes a story about a cyclist getting killed by a drunk driver still on his probationary license. Cyclist killed by ‘drunk’ P-plater The driver was proceeding at a high rate of speed judging by the extent of the debris field, 30 meters in length (about 95 feet +/-).
Conflict in WI over rural roads. Bicyclists take care on rural roads Apparently drivers travel too fast to be able to react to slow moving vehicles on quiet country roads, going or exceeding the speed limit. Makes one wonder what would happen if instead of a bicycle they came across a combine or other large piece of farm equipment that filled an entire lane instead of 3 feet?
Police and firemen in FL ride for one of their own. Brotherhood Ride for fallen officer Widman begins today I don’t know what to say except that while they are still human and subject to all the failings that state implies, like bicycle helmets they are all we have to protect us from when things go wrong…
And an article about the Raisin Hope ride. Larry Fleming: Raisin Hope ride deserves support This guy’s (Saul Raisin) injuries were worse than mine in some respects, less than mine in others. He retains his languages and motor skills, I retain my writing abilities, and both of us had our senses of humor changed…
And that’s all there is today.
