I have a dress rehearsal for the big Winter solstice celebration we have here in DFW. This is the one that was started by Amy Martin back last century, and has become a non-profit corporation now, and is covered by the European press, so it’s a really big thing. The thing for me is getting to it is a bit tricky, and I have other things to do today, and we have been getting freezing precipitation so there are some slick spots on the roads. Riding my bicycle to the carpool gathering point is going to be interesting this afternoon, even more so riding home after the rehearsal.
So, if I don’t post anything tonight, don’t worry. I will post today’s Feed tomorrow morning if I don’t get home in time tonight.
And don’t ask what that Raman Numeral is, I just made something up because I can’t keep track of how many times I have used this title. I’m not really sure that “Q” is even part of the Roman Numeral set, maybe it’s a Ramen Numeral… and my spell checker does not know Ramen. I hope that’s not an indication of how the rest of this post is going to go. And some of you may have noticed a post with a very old link right before this post was “published” to use WP terminology. That’s because I had a post that the click on the “publish” button did not get registered and the post stayed in my drafts queue for several days before I checked to see what the problem was, I apologize to the victims for not making their sad story known sooner.
This is the same wreck in the UK from 2 different sources. First the local news Cyclist killed in Bristol road accident and from the Beeb (BBC) Cyclist dies after car accident Apparently it wasn’t a hit-and-run because there was nothing said about it.
As I mentioned before in another post UK media are prohibited from releasing any details about actual wrecks in order to prevent possible jury contamination should there be a court case filed. Never mind that with universal health care provided by NHS the major cost of wrecks aside from property damage is covered in the UK, that is their system and for them the system works. For me the system sucks as I have to wait months for the inquiry results to be made public and most times those results are no published online. That makes telling you how to avoid the same situation, well, a bit difficult. That’s one of the reasons I’m puzzled as to why I get so many readers from the other side of the Pond, they know they could get the same news just as fast from one of their news services but they come here to read about it.
That’s all I have so far, but remember what the little girl said.
