Yeah, I used that headline once before so sue me. I just opened the Feed folder and … UGH! Just the headlines from the first story in each report makes my stomach churn. I might have to take another Mental Hygiene Break shortly.

On another note there will be a break coming this summer. My 40^th HS reunion is coming up the first part of August, which will require I take a trip to Salt Lake City. I haven’t been back to SLC since 1978, it will be interesting to see the changes since then. There was a local hamburger chain called “Arctic Circle” that was everywhere back then, I want to find out if any are left.

It’s raining here, and the Feed

And by raining I don’t just mean a few drops or a light mist. I’m talking the kind of rain that comes down hard enough that we can feel the foundation move under the house. BTW the front door latches now without using the deadbolt. I’m talking streets flooded with runoff up over the curbs and us living more or less on the top of a minor rise in elevation. Typical Texas T-storm rains but of hours duration instead of the few minutes a typical Texas T-storm lasts. Weather.com says this is the leading edges of Patricia which made landfall in Mexico today. That’s a BIG storm, it’s making landfall on the west coast of central Mexico, and we are getting deluged almost a thousand miles away. Still in CA, the video that went with this article was very hard to watch. I’m back (sorta) and the Feed

OK one thing I know for sure is if I ever get a 9 to 5 job in downtown Dallas this blog is doomed. Seriously the exhaustion levels of taking the DART rail and fighting the crowds to get there, plus whatever I would be doing for “work”, and the fighting the crowds on the way home… By the time I got home Wednesday and yesterday I was just pure beat with most of that being from the trip, as I hardly did anything as a volunteer just sitting around waiting for someone to need me (I was relegated to a backup position because I don’t stand up so good). So work will have to be work-from-home for me, assuming I can even find work. Oh I think I forgot to say what I was volunteering for: I was working the Out and Equal Workplace Summit.

Those are the only two scenarios that I can envision where the investigators can’t tell which way the bike was going from the damage it sustained. I’m betting on “buzz job” if only because the likelihood of jumping off the bike without getting hit is extremely low.

OK today’s opening paragraph is both non-bike and non-humor. There was another theater shooting yesterday, only this time I know the location. Know as in have been to that theater several times to see various movies. I had errands to run on the Big Feed Day

Now that Mrs. the Poet is home I have access to her account for paying the bills that my income won’t cover (which is just about everything except groceries). So I spent a few 2½ hours out in the 99°F heat paying bills that had to be covered today or face huge late fees. I was fully hydrated before I left and did not stop to rehydrate until I got home, so I’m all hot and sweaty and thirsty now. That’s called “living in Texas”. 😛
